Marks 2nd Birthday

Going golfing with Jack and Daddy.

He liked riding in the golf cart, but was more interested in being out on the golf course with the boys.

This picture above was taken at a ward camp out a few weeks ago. He loves camping and actually does really well. Mark and Jimmy slept through the night. And of course I didn't sleep at all! Thats why I only camp once every 5 years!

                                                            Marks 2nd Birthday

Well my little boy has turned 2! It was Marks Golden Birthday this year. He turned 2 on September 2nd. We had so much fun. We went to San Diego and had the Webster and Stewart families all together at the Stewart's new Encinitas house. We had a BBQ, a Mark sized Brobee pinata and tons of presents for Mark. He was so cute opening each one. As soon as he unwrapped the present he wanted to open whatever was inside. Needless to say, it took a while to get through all the gifts. :) His favorite gift was a Radio Flyer Scooter from Grandpa and Grandma Webster. He rode that thing like a champ! He is so coordinated with his body its amazing. He is great at all sports and runs faster then I do! He loves football, baseball, basketball, golf, and soccer. He loves going to parks, reading books, building blocks, playing with his toy kitchen, and building things with his tool box. He LOVES going to the beach and pretending to surf like daddy, and he loves camping too!

Mark is such a loving little guy. He is so sweet and even though his quite stubborn (like his mommy) he is so much fun to be around! :)

Today Mark had his 2 year wellness check up. He is growing fast!
Here are his 2 year stats- Height- 38 1/2 inches (99%) Weight- 28lbs (48%) Head- 49 cm (58%)
So needless to say he is a tall, skinny guy.

Here are a few pictures from Marks Birthday

Mark touching the life size Brobee Pinata. He was terrified of it! He hid in the house until candy fell out. Then he would run outside, grab some candy, then scurry back inside.

Marky also loves his Aunt Robin. :)

I forgot to mention that we cut Marks beautiful blonde hair. I cried for like a week after we did it. I have finally gotten used to it. He looks like a big boy now. Above is a before picture and below is an after.

Luckily he is still a cutie. :)

Father and Son Camp Out

So Jimmy took Mark on this first camp out this weekend, and they had a blast! They left Friday evening at about 5pm and came home Saturday afternoon. I was shocked that they made it through the night. I thought for sure Jimmy would bring him home at like 1 am or something. Mark loved following all the boys around and throwing rocks into a nearby pond. Which apparently, he did for most of the camp out. They ate hot dogs and marshmallows for dinner and Mark was in heaven. :) It took Jimmy 2 1/2 hours to get him to sleep. He said that Mark was just super excited to be in the tent and was just running around in there. He finally gave up at about 11:30pm and woke up at 6am! But the good thing was he slept straight through. When they got home, Mark smelt like camp fire and had dirt all over his face. It was so cute! :) I could tell he had such a great time with his Daddy. Jimmy did so well with him. I am so grateful that I have such an amazing husband and father for my son. :)

Mommy also had a great time during the camp out. :) As soon as they left Friday evening it felt so weird to be by myself and know that it would be like that the rest of the night. So of course the first thing I did was clean the house. But that didn't take long at all because I didn't have Mark making new messes along the way. After that I went to Zumba to work out, and then picked up Chipotle and some delicious desserts from Wholefoods. I came home, ate, took a bubble bath, and stayed up late watching TV. I slept in the next morning, and was extremely happy that the boys made it through the night without coming home. :) Needless to say, it was a great weekend in the Stewart home. :)

Here are a few pictures that Jimmy took at the camp out.

Mark outside of his and Daddy's tent.

He loves sticks.

Jimmy said they were camped out next to this little pond that Mark loved to throw rocks in. Jimmy said he pretty much did that the entire time. :)

Jimmy said he took this picture at 6am- the time that they woke up. Pretty early! Especially since they didn't fall asleep until 11:30pm.

Mark taking it all in. :)

Mark and Daddy roasting marshmallows. Jimmy said he was more interested in eating the mallows right out of the bag, instead of roasting them. :)

Its A Wonderful Life

Well it has been a while since our last post so I thought I would do a little update. Not much has changed really. We are settled into our little home here in Monterey and we are starting to really enjoy it here. It is a beautiful place to live and I know Jimmy is loving being 5 minutes from surf. :)

Mark is 18 months now. He is so big and such a joy in our life. He makes me laugh everyday. He is talking a lot more. He tries to repeat everything you say, but his favorite thing to say is Yo Gabba! :) He loves balls, cars, dogs, books, dressing himself (and undressing for that matter), his "ba"/ milk, his blanket, shoes,  baths/showers, coloring, and thats just to name a few. He loves to be Mr. Independent and likes to do things all by himself. ( If possible.) He has also started throwing some major tantrums lately. He gets so frustrated and mad and starts hitting and throwing and pulling hair. He mainly does that stuff to me and it drives me crazy! I try to discipline him and keep my cool but man it is tough! He just got to nursery age, and I am actually called into nursery so that seems to be a challenge. He likes to go up to kids and randomly push or hit them. Most of the time for no reason at all. I get so mad! Why is my kid so anti-social? Everyone tells me it is just his age and he will grow out off it but it is definitely not a fun stage to go through. The funny thing is, is one minute he will be pushing a kid and then the next minute he will be hugging them. So he does have a sweet side too. He can actually be very sweet. He loves to give hugs and kisses. He is just a little active boy I guess. And I love every bit of it. :)

Life is wonderful. I feel so blessed. I thank the Lord everyday for my beautiful family and for all of the lessons I am learning as a mother.

Birthday/Monterey/Halloween

Well I know it has been a while since I have posted but the past couple months have been crazy!
My last post was about Mark turning 1 and I just want to say that we had a ton of fun for his First Birthday.  We had a swim party at my mom and dads and Jimmy made some amazing Brazilian food for everyone. We found a Brazilian market in Chino Hills, bought some good food and had a blast making it.
Everyone swimming in the pool.

Mark got a ball that sprayed water. He LOVED it! :)

Happy Birthday Mark! We love you!

Here is the Brazilian brick BBQ that Jimmy made. :)

Our other big news is that we have moved to Monterey, CA! Jimmy is working with Jack at a nursing home. He is doing the marketing for the building and it is going great. We were sad to leave our friends in Redlands and to leave our families but we knew it was the right thing to do. Plus, we are living by Melissa and Jack again and we are loving it! It just like the good old days when we were in Idaho, except now we are by the beach and we have Mark to carry around. Monterey is absolutely beautiful. We love our apartment and you can see the beach from our patio. It is amazing! While Jimmy is working hard, I usually spend my days taking Mark to all of the beautiful parks and if it's too cold we found a fun indoor children's museum that he loves. We have already been to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Big Sur, and of course Jimmy has done a ton of surfing. :)
Every Saturday we go for a walk around the beach. This particular spot is called Lovers Point. It is beautiful! :)

Melissa and Jack got us tickets to the Aquarium. Mark loved the fish and touching the star fish. :)

Last weekend we drove to Big Sur and enjoyed lunch a fantastic place called Nepanthe.

Mark loves his Auntie! :)

Bixby Bridge.

Jimmy of course had to stop and get a little surf session in on our way home.

Watching Daddy surf. :)

The only other thing I can think of that has happened recently was Halloween. Mark dressed up as a little puppy dog. He was so stinking cute! :) We went to Melissa and Jacks for pizza and then Melissa and I took Mark out trick-or-treating to a few places around her place. It was so cute! He quickly got the hang of it and for a while whenever we would knock on a door I think he would expect candy. :) After he got way too much candy we went back to Melissa and Jacks and watched Hocus Pocus.  You can't have Halloween pass by without seeing that movie! :)

Isn't he the cutest little puppy you've ever seen? :)
